About Mighty Mindsets
You already know something is missing — and it’s not another worksheet.
Whether you’re a parent watching your child melt down over small frustrations, or a teacher whose classroom feels more like a pressure cooker than a community — you’re here because you want something real. So do I.
“One person can change the world, and everyone should try.”
— The Mighty Mindsets Belief
Hi — I’m Bethany.
I grew up in Maine and spent 16 years teaching in K–12 classrooms across Knox County. I’ve sat with kindergartners who couldn’t find words for the storm happening inside them, and with middle schoolers who were sharp as tacks academically but completely lost when conflict showed up at lunch. I’ve called parents who were just as exhausted and confused as their kids. I’ve been that teacher who stayed late trying to figure out why bright, capable children were struggling — not with the content, but with each other, with setbacks, with their own emotions.
The truth I kept coming back to: we spend enormous energy teaching kids what to think, but almost none teaching them how to navigate the human parts of being alive. How to bounce back when something falls apart. How to actually listen when they disagree. How to work through a problem without shutting down or blowing up.
In 2022, I was honored as Knox County Teacher of the Year — and honestly, the recognition lit a fire under me. It made me ask: what do I want to do with what I’ve learned? I’d been quietly building a framework with my students for years — something I was calling Success Readiness Skills™. And I kept seeing the same thing: when kids had language and practice around communication, resilience, and collaboration, everything else got easier. Not perfect. Just easier and more hopeful.
So I started Mighty Mindsets. I’m also currently pursuing my doctorate in education with a focus on Social-Emotional Learning — not because I need more letters after my name, but because I genuinely want to understand this work at a deeper level and bring that back to the families and educators I serve.
This isn’t a program built in a boardroom. It was built in classrooms, at kitchen tables, and in the honest conversations I’ve had with parents who love their kids deeply and just need a starting point.
The Framework
Success Readiness Skills™
Everything at Mighty Mindsets is built around three connected pillars. They’re not separate subjects — they work together, the way real life does.
Communication & Empathy
Finding the words. Hearing the other person. Building the kind of connection that actually holds — at home, at school, and everywhere in between.
Resilience & Self-Management
Learning how to feel big feelings without being ruled by them. Getting back up. Developing the inner steadiness that helps kids — and adults — keep going when things get hard.
Problem-Solving & Collaboration
Moving from conflict to creative thinking. Working with other people — not just next to them. These are the skills that make every room a little better the moment someone walks in.
You don’t have to have it all figured out before you start.
Mighty Mindsets is built for real families and real classrooms — not the ones that look perfect on the outside, but the ones doing the honest, sometimes messy work of raising emotionally healthy kids.
I’m so glad you found this corner of the internet. Come on in and look around — I think you’ll feel at home here.
